We are proud to share that the Government of Ukraine has awarded Mark “Marko” Temnycky the Cross of the Patriot of Ukraine in recognition of his outstanding journalism and volunteer service.
Marko was honored for his reporting on Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and his coverage of developments across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The award also recognizes his contributions to the Atlantic Council, the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization, the Ukrainian Catholic University, and Razom for Ukraine.
“I am very honored and thankful to receive the Cross of the Patriot of Ukraine from the Government of Ukraine for my journalism work. I am very touched,” Mark “Marko” Temnycky told the Shevchenko Scientific Society. “I would like to thank God, my family, and friends for their continued motivation and support. I dedicate this award to my four grandparents who are from Lviv oblast, as well as my great-grandfather Volodymyr Temnytsky, who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1919. I appreciate you all!”
Please join us in congratulating Marko on this well-deserved recognition!
