Our New Website!

We are pleased to announce and welcome you to the Shevchenko Scientific Society’s new website!  On the newly redesigned site you can read about the History and Mission of the Society and view some archival pictures of one of the first Board of Directors from the 1950’s as well as our current Board and their contact information. Recent Society News,  scholarly articles, and  featured publications will be posted regularly.

The mission of the Shevchenko Scientific Society is to advance and promote scholarship in Ukrainian studies and by Ukrainian scholars. A series of scholarly articles and monographs can be found under the Publications at Research and Publications. You can also read about our Research Centers and programming.The scheduled Saturday Afternoon Lecture Series can be found in the Upcoming events, while highlights and photos of previous events can be found under Past Events.

The Society’s grants programs are described under their respective tabs: Grants and Publication Grants. You can find past grantees under Past Awards.

Hover over the  Library and Archives tab and you will find the links for archival finding aids, usage policies and on line versions of the Society’s bi-annual Bulletin.

Our newest feature is the online Bookstore. The Shevchenko Scientific Society finances the research and publication of various books by scholars and members of the Society, through the Society’s Grants Program. Additionally, the Society published several books in commemoration of the the 200th birthday of the Society’s namesake, Taras Shevchenko, which can be found under the category Shevchenkiana. Browse the virtual shelves of the online Bookstore, and visit often, as more titles are being added.
