NTSh-A Publishes 2023 Bulletin (No. 55-56)

First published in 2024

The new double issue of the Society’s Bulletin No. 55-56, for January–December 2023 opens with an essay on Shevchenko’s reception by George Grabowicz, head of the Society’s Philology Section, and an article highlighting the Open House hosted by the Society in conjunction with the ASN conference in May 2023.

This is followed by a special section on “Decolonizing Ukraine,” featuring an event co-hosted by the Cooper Union, Shevchenko Scientific Society in the U.S., and the Ukrainian Museum in New York on April 27, 2023. The special section includes contributions by Myroslava Mudrak, Oleh Kotsyuba, Mayhill Fowler, and Vitaly Chernetsky. The section concludes with a piece about the activities of NTSh-A and its members at the 2023 ASEEES Convention in Philadelphia.

The Bulletin features a section on the Society’s library and archives, including articles by Jurij Dobczansky, Marko Slyz, and Lev Chaban. A special article on the Jacques Hnizdovsky collection completes the section.

The Bulletin also contains information about the newest publications of its members, events hosted by the Society in 2023, information about newly accepted members, fellowships for young Ukrainian doctors, and In Memoriam pieces on Jaroslav Pelensky and Orest Popovych.

The Bulletin of the Shevchenko Scientific Society appears each semester, or, alternatively, as a double issue each year, largely in Ukrainian but also with material in English. Printed copies of the Bulletin are mailed to Society members. The text of the Bulletin is also available on the Society website in the “News and Events” section.
