Tune in to the Expertise-a-thon for Ukraine April 29

April 20, 2022

On April 29, 2022, the Shevchenko Scientific Society in the U.S. (NTSh-A) will host an eight-hour webinar on Zoom called the Shevchenko Expertise-a-thon for Ukraine. The webinar will feature mini-lectures by NTSh-A members and guests, who have agreed to share their scholarly expertise or experience as activists. The webinar will run from 9 am until 5 pm EDT.

The purpose of the webinar is threefold:

  • to unite our community in a common purpose of sharing knowledge;
  • to elevate Ukrainian voices and expertise;
  • and to raise money for the Shevchenko Emergency Fund, which will benefit Ukrainian scholars, writers, and artists affected by the war.

The Expertise-a-thon will be organized into one-hour thematic segments and will include presentations on Ukrainian culture, history, politics, medicine, and science, as well as humanitarian relief, scholar rescue initiatives, and cultural heritage preservation in wartime. Presentations will be in English. This event is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $50 to the Shevchenko Emergency Fund.
